Cacti and palm trees in the urban landscape are fantasy images that eventually morph into commonplace for people like me, i.e., transplanted from temperate climates to SoCal. Little house/big cactus became a ‘micro-obsession” for several months and all I did was photograph giant cacti in the front yards of small houses. After over 30 years in Southern California, I’m still charmed by the LHBC duet. These photographs may be just another form of ‘real estate photography’ with emphasis on the plant and the house as supporting actor. Anyway, if I was a realtor, I’d sell the plant (this explains why I am not a realtor). I continue with my floral photo-bombing so maybe this one is a MAJOR obsession, not a micro……
